Things to Do in Harrogate
From beautiful gardens and historic baths to independent streets, open spaces, countryside walks and some of Yorkshire's best days out, discover the best things to do in and around Harrogate.
Walks & Outdoors
Neighbouring Washburn Valley reservoir, quieter than Swinsty and easily walked with it.

Fewston sits immediately alongside Swinsty, and the two are usually walked either separately or joined into a longer figure-of-eight.
Fewston is the quieter half: more woodland, fewer people, and a path that stays close to the water for much of its length. Together with Swinsty it makes up one of the most-used walking spots within easy reach of Harrogate.
It is around 20 minutes from town by car. Paths can be muddy after rain, and there is no shelter to speak of on the open stretches.
