Italian small plates and wine on Kings Road, cooking in the southern Italian tradition.
Near Harrogate
Estate village north of Harrogate with a castle, walled gardens and a cobbled market square.

Ripley is a small estate village that feels deliberately composed, because it largely is — it was rebuilt in the 19th century by the Ingilby family in a continental style, complete with a cobbled square and a village hall labelled Hôtel de Ville.
Ripley Castle and its walled gardens and grounds sit at the centre of it, and the village has a handful of places to eat and drink around the square.
It is a short drive or a good cycle from Harrogate along the Nidderdale Greenway, and it works well as a stop on the way further into Nidderdale. Check castle opening before you travel — access varies by season and event.
